BD conventional needles are known as BD PrecisionGlide needles. BD PrecisionGlide needle technology incorporates a thin wall, tri-bevel tip and BD micro bonded lubricant which is designed to provide ease of penetration. BD recently streamlined 16G-25G needles to a thin-wall configuration (27G and 30G will remain a regular wall). Using a BD thin-wall needle may enable you to use a smaller gauge needle as the flow rate is similar to a BD regular-wall needle one gauge larger.
